School District 92 (Nisga'a) Employees - Welcome Back!

By Joe Rhodes | 30 Aug 2018

Dear Staff,

The beginning of a new school year is like the dawning of a new day. It brings us together and reminds us that the future holds infinite opportunities as we learn and support one another.  In support of one another, a few of our colleagues are walking a heavy-hearted path.  To the Peal family, the district sends their condolences and prayers.

District staff, we hope that your summer was relaxing, filled with adventures and good health because you deserve it.  The opportunity to refuel over the summer is a necessary component of the important work that you do.  Beginning a great school year filled with hope, vision, and excitement, we welcome:

  • our new staff members to our School District 92 (Nisga’a)
  • back our district staff
  • the wonderful opportunity to learn and work with Lisims Government as we support our   children’s educational future
  • the ongoing challenge of implementing the renewed BC Curriculum

Clearly, it’s a year of opportunities, a reflection of dignity and purpose in guiding our children’s future.  We know that we can meet all of our initiatives, because we believe in the promise of educational excellence guiding our students to Graduation.

Your job is very important for our children in Nisga’a.  Your students need your wisdom, and most importantly, your guidance and care.  Our hope is that through our Learning Communities, both you and our students will think of our schools as places where community of learners come together.  We hope that you attempt new things this year, and that you challenge your students with hard and interesting questions.

In closing, we invite you to think about something written so long ago, but something that still resonates today.  Emerson said, “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”  We are confident that we will blaze a trail filled with success and accomplishment as, together, we launch the best year yet for School District 92 (Nisga’a).

We hope that each of you enjoys the remaining days of summer and we look forward to working together.
